Foodbank Saved By Crypto

In October I reported that a new Cryptocurrency – FOODBANK CRYPTO was making waves in the crypto community. Having now returned a 2800% profit to early adopters of the token, they are making even bigger waves this month.

I also reported that although the token had raised a considerable amount of money for foodbanks, currently around £48000, they were having difficulty actually giving the money away. FOODBANK CRYPTO’s creator, Chris Penman had previously advised that they were planning to give the money to his local foodbank but as it turns out that foodbank actually refused the money. As did six other foodbanks local to Chris in Glasgow, Motherwell, Coatbridge and Airdrie.

Today while chatting with Chris in a Starbucks in Manchester, he laughs remarking that the problem is “quite unexpected, people seem to think that I’m joking or that this is some sort of wind up, but genuinely we have forty odd grand to give away and no one wants it!”.

Tyler Labine, Star of NBC’s hit show New Amsterdam, having heard that people are actually rejecting much needed funds, has provided a short video in which he comments that he just wants to help legitimise this token in any way he can. In the video, he urges people to ditch whatever hesitancy they have to this crypto token and get onboard. The video can be seen in full HERE.

Happily, Chris was in Manchester having seen an appeal from a Manchester foodbank called Perry’s Pantry which was on the brink of closing down in the coming weeks. One of FOODBANK tokens supporters sent him a link to the Manchester Evening News article detailing the plight of this foodbank and Chris gave them a call.  FOODBANK CRYPTO is now about to save Perry’s Pantry, ensuring that the Didsbury charity can continue to provide weekly food parcels to more than 300 people.

Chris, who is obviously delighted at being able to help, comments that “although we’re not donating to a foodbank local to me, the whole point was that the donations would be made to anywhere in need. I’m so pleased that we can help Jen at Perry’s Pantry and make sure they can continue to help people over the festive period. I’m also very grateful to Tyler Labine for his video urging people to get over their hesitancy. I hope this donation and Tyler’s kind words help people realise that we are just trying to do good. Crypto can be such a force for good if people give it a chance. Unfortunately, negative Crypto press gets more coverage and I think, honestly, that’s why I’ve literally been unable to give away tens of thousands of pounds, up until right now. This is a massive step forward for us as a token”.

So, if you’re a foodbank owner and a tattooed Scotsman with a shaven head offers you a lot of money, you may want to consider saying yes. That man is  Chris Penman, CEO and creator of FOODBANK CRYPTO and as the token continues to grow, he’s going to have a lot more money to give away.
