What The Mandalorian‘s Season 3 Finale After-Credits Scene (or Lack Thereof) Means for Star Wars

The following story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of The Mandalorian, titled “The Return.” IT WAS an absolutely action-packed and emotion-fueled Season 3 finale for The Mandalorian, one that saw an incredible aerial battle between a Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff)-led army of Mandalorian warriors (including The Armorer (Emily Swallow)), a final showdown between Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Grogu, and the evil Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), a Mythosaur sighting, and perhaps the most adorable adoption in the history of Mandalore (This is, indeed, the way). In fact, so much happened in the Season 3 finale—titled “The Return”—that one could probably make the case that if this was the last episode of The Mandalorian (and it’s not, because Season 4 has already been written) that we’d be pretty content with the ending. Most of the major plot threads of the show’s first three seasons—Grogu’s path, Din and Grogu’s bond, the Darksaber, Moff Gideon—have largely wrapped up, and the season ends with Din and Grogu just kicking back with some good times.
