On January 12, 1998, former White House staffer Linda Tripp made a phone call to the independent counsel investigating the Clintons, betraying the trust of her friend Monica Lewinsky and setting in motion the events that would lead to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton. Ryan Murphy’s FX series Impeachment: American Crime Story sets out to tell the story, beginning with crucial events of the years that preceded, providing context for what led Tripp to do what she did.
